What is your minimum quantity of raw fleece for processing?
If you are wanting us to produce sliver out of your raw fleece we require a minimum of one raw fleece. If you are wanting a yarn producing out of your raw fleece we require 30kg.
Do you charge us on the weight that we send in?
No we always charge on the weight you receive back. Throughout the process you can lose between 30 and 50% of the weight that you sent in.
How long can I expect it to take for my fleece to be processed?
Waiting time can vary, we are always happy to chat with you at the time as to when you can expect your fleece to be returned.
How do you post the product back?
We can arrange a courier to deliver the finished product back to you.
Is there anything we need to do before our fleece enters the mill?
Fleeces need to have been skirted and any significant veg matter or soiled fleece needs to have been removed.
The fleece should be placed securely in a sealed bag. The bag should be labelled on the inside with the order form and on the outside of the bag your Name and the number of bags you have sent in should be made clear. The order form can be found on the booking page.
Please ensure that you have agreed with us an arrival date for your fleece before it arrives at the mill.
What does it cost to process our fleece?

Why is Halifax Spinning Mill selling carded wool, yarns and garments?
At the Mill we have started to sell some products of our own to support us in subsidising the costs of producing smaller batches of yarn.
